Terms
Terms of service.
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Plain English version.
Browse the site freely. Submit your own band, not someone else's. Be honest about what you submit. We can take stuff down. The site is provided as-is. California law applies.
Submitting content.
- You can submit a band you are in, manage, or otherwise represent. Submitting someone else's band without their consent is grounds for removal.
- You confirm that you own or have rights to the photo, bio, and any other content you submit.
- By submitting, you grant Ventura County Music a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publish that content on this site and on the related social channels we run.
- You can request takedown of your own submission at any time by emailing us. Once removed, the URL may return a 404 within hours, and search engine caches typically clear within a few weeks.
Acceptable use.
No hate speech, harassment, doxxing, or content that targets minors. No bots scraping the site for resale. No fake submissions, spam, or astroturfing. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to filter automated submissions and a per-IP rate limit on the form.
Moderation.
We hand-review every submission. We can approve, reject, edit for formatting, or remove anything that breaks these terms or that we think shouldn't be on the site. We are not obligated to publish what you submit.
Event information.
The event calendar pulls from a shared database and from public listings. We do our best to keep it accurate, but venues cancel shows, lineups change, and ticket prices move. Always confirm with the venue or ticketing source before driving across the county. We are not liable for changes to event details.
No warranty.
The site is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or that the site will fit your particular needs. We are not responsible for losses arising from your use of the site.
Changes.
We can change these terms when needed. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes to the user-facing rules will be announced on the site.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ventura County, California.
